PHILOSOPHY

Our teachers develop a daily written lesson plan focused around the Highscope Key Developmental Indicators. Teachers will familiarize themselves with Highscope Preschool Curriculum Content including the following eight (8) areas:

A safe, healthy, nurturing environment.

Development of strong teacher-child relationships in combination with strong

family teacher relationships.

Various opportunities for play and learning through creative play experiences. Families that are involved and work as a unit to help your child grow.

The activities are geared toward your child’s current skills and interests. Decisions are made from a child-centered focus which includes looking at the early childhood standards of quality preschool, the curriculum, assessment of information, feedback from parents and the diverse social, economic, cultural and family needs that exist within the classroom.

MISSION

Our mission at Kristy’s Early Childhood Development Center is to provide children a loving and educational environment while teaching them how to have confidence in themselves. Our goal is to nurture the ehildren to reach their highest potential. The growth and development of healthy minds and hearts starts here! We want to inspire our children to become successful men and women.

CURRICULUM

Our teachers develop a daily written lesson plan focused around the Highscope Key Developmental Indicators. Teachers will familiarize themselves with Highscope Preschool Curriculum Content including the following eight (8) areas:

Approaches to Learning, Social and Emotional Development, Physical Development and Health, Language Literacy and Communication, Mathematics, Creative Arts, Science and Technology, and Social Studies.

Classroom areas are kept busy with a variety of activities with options and opportunities available for the children to choose. Each activity has a designated area. We use the Curriculum High Scope which includes the following: computer area, art area, blocks area, library area, manipulative area, small motor skills, dramatic play, and housekeeping. A routine is established in each area to promote Independent thinking and stimulating growth so they will have understanding to how different components work (together) within these areas. Kristy’s staff is to relate to each child as an individual; attempting to meet his/her unique needs where each child can learn on his/hers own level.
